Dr. Layla Mohammed is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics. She received her MBChB degree from the University of Baghdad, College of Medicine in 1998. She completed residency training in Pediatrics in 1997 at Henry Ford hospital where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Mohammed served as a hospitalist at the Henry Ford Health System then completed a fellowship in Academic General Pediatrics at the University of Michigan in 2001. She has since served as faculty at the Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Michigan. Dr. Mohammed is the Pediatric pod lead at the Ypsilanti Health Center where she has her patient panel and precepts Pediatric, Family Medicine residents and medical students. Her clinical interests include eliminating health disparities for children through quality improvement project implementation at the Division of General Pediatrics with a specific interest in developing a clinical model for comprehensive health care for children of refugee and immigrant families.
