Robert A. Lowe, MD, MPH, is a Professor in the Department of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology, the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. He is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University, and the founder of the OHSU Center for Policy and Research in Emergency Medicine (CRP-EM). He is residency trained and board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine. Dr. Lowe has performed extensive health services and epidemiologic research, with funding from the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research, the National Institutes of Health (NINDS, NHLBI, and NIDA), Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, William Penn Foundation, and other sources. His major research focus is access to care for vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on the role of emergency departments in access to care and on the relationship between access to primary care and use of emergency departments
