Professor Ruth Dunkle’s research, teaching, and clinical practice focus on gerontological social work. Recent research projects include “Mothers of Adult Daughters with a Serious Mental Illness: The Experience of African Americans and Whites” and Gender Differences in Depressive Symptoms among Caregivers who have Stopped Caregiving”. Currently she is part of an M Cubed Project with Geriatric Medicine and Public Health at the UofM that focuses on reconfiguring dementia care in acute and long term care. She is also the director of a Certificate in Advanced Dementia Care for Health Care Professionals.
